Newman & Gibbs Park is a sad attempt at providing community space. The chain link fence enclosure sets the aesthetic tone immediately — functional, unapologetic, and not trying to impress anyone.
Inside, worn toddler equipment does its humble best to entertain little ones long enough to burn some energy before everyone unanimously agrees it's time to leave. Equipment variety is limited, but technically present — which is the most generous thing we can say.
The basketball court is the genuine saving grace for older kids, arriving like a plot twist nobody expected from this particular park.
Strictly a neighborhood pit stop — and only if the neighborhood is very, very close.
