How Sparqkids works

Built by parents, for parents.

About Us

It’s obvious why we built this

Every parent keeps a mental shortlist of the playgrounds worth the drive — built one bad outing and one lucky find at a time.

We are parents too, and we wanted an easy way to share all the amazing places parents discover on their own, so it’s simple to decide on your plans—whether you’re tired, under the weather, or solo parenting.

Sparqkids puts that list in your pocket, crowdsourced from parents doing the same thing across the Bay. So, hey there! We’re Sparqkids and we believe every child should have the experience to explore what lights them up, and every parent has a vibrant community and the needed resources to spark their child’s passion.

How We Decide
What Shows Up

This is a free resource that runs on the tired but generous community of parents, so please submit feedback if something isn’t clear.

Parent Mental Labor Prioritized

We prioritize places, experiences, and any information that makes family life easier: coffee nearby, bathrooms yes/no, shade, changing tables, and more.

Community-Powered

Pro-tips, photos, and even bare-bone recommendations from the parent hearsay circle come from real parents in the community, here to make every parent’s life a tiny bit easier.

Quality Over Quantity

We don’t want to be just another directory. We curate so that all parents can be present with their kids by using technology to reduce decision fatigue.
