Southwest San Francisco has a variety of well-designed neighborhood parks, and Clay Avenue is a prime example of exactly that. Brightly colored in striking green and navy blue, the newer equipment immediately signals this isn't your average forgotten neighborhood lot.

The rock climbing wall here is genuinely impressive — the kind that would make bouldering enthusiasts do a double take at a playground. A large carousel with its own climbing structure adds another layer of fun, and the overall variety comfortably serves both toddlers and kids up to around eight years old. Popular on a weekday morning — always a good sign.

Party planners look elsewhere — four scattered picnic tables without any cohesive grouping makes gatherings awkward at best.
