Sparqkids South San Francisco Buri Buri Park

Buri Buri Park

Parent reviewed

Worn equipment next to a roaring expressway-adjacent street — yet somehow always full of birthday parties. Pickleball, baseball, and a free library. South SF's biggest mystery.

Buri Buri Park is a bit of a head-scratcher. The equipment is visibly worn and weathered, the park sits directly alongside a road that functions every bit like an expressway — complete with the noise level to match — and yet somehow, the picnic tables are consistently full of birthday parties. South San Francisco knows something we don't.

The playground layout is a little confused — toddler toys oddly interspersed throughout the big kid climbing structure, with a separate toddler area on the far side of the park a fair distance away. The signature round swings are heavily taped and fraying, which is hard to overlook. A free corner library is a sweet community touch.

Baseball field, basketball court, and active pickleball courts round out the amenities for older kids and adults.

Come for the pickleball, stay for the mystery parties.
