Alta Loma Park has a lot going for it — colorful, well-maintained playground great for toddlers with rubberized flooring, although it has a climbing structure that confidently ignores its own "ages 2-5" sign by being genuinely intense and tall, baseball fields, basketball hoops, tennis courts, lovely bike-friendly paths, and a beautiful grassy field perfect for dog walks and family outings.
The bathrooms exist. They are functional. Metal toilets in a very basic facility — let's leave it at that and move on.
Everything checks out for a wonderful family outing until you spot the sign casually mentioning that coyotes are sometimes found in the park. Nothing like a potential wildlife encounter to keep an afternoon interesting.
Coyotes aside, a genuinely solid and well-rounded park worth visiting.
