San Mateo Central Park is less a playground destination and more a full urban escape. Peaceful walking paths, a picturesque rose garden, a serene Japanese tea garden, and six tennis courts make this a wonderful spot for a relaxed family outing beyond just the playground.

The location is unbeatable — right downtown, making it easy to grab lunch nearby and stroll over for a picnic afterward. Winter visitors get a bonus with a seasonal ice skating rink that's always a hit with kids.

A beautiful, versatile park that offers something for everyone regardless of age.
