Tucked inside a state park with trails leading into Sugarloaf Mountain, Laurelwood offers something beyond your typical playground visit. The fully enclosed play area feels thoughtfully designed — equipment is clean, new, and genuinely more interesting than the standard setup. It's also refreshingly safe for little ones; no alarming open drops, just a rock wall for the adventurous climbers.
A standout feature is the shaded under-platform space, perfect for imaginative play — corner store, castle, fort, you name it. Plenty to keep both toddlers and older kids busy.
One gap worth noting: no big kid swings, and only two toddler swings available. The park gets quite sunny, so the nearby water stations and bathrooms are genuinely essential. Shaded seating is available, which you'll appreciate.
A beautiful, unique spot — bonus points for the trailhead access.
