Arguello Park is great for toddlers — a fully enclosed playground conveniently right next to a bathroom, lovely wide open spaces, and nice views that make the surrounding area pleasant. The hiking trails add outdoor adventure for those inclined, though stroller walkers should know upfront these trails aren't built for wheels.
The parking situation, however, is a genuine deterrent that colors the entire experience. A tiny lot next to the playground with mostly reserved spaces, a small overflow lot at the bottom that fills instantly due to the adjacent school, and limited street options make arrival more stressful than it should be.
The playground itself is modest and small — not enough to justify the parking battle as a standalone destination.
Worth visiting if hiking is the goal. Otherwise, the effort outweighs the reward.
