Junipero Serra Park is first and foremost a County park destination — hiking trails suitable for all ages, including gentle enough paths for babies in carriers and toddlers, and campgrounds that make it a proper outdoor adventure. The playground is very much the supporting cast here.

That said, the supporting cast has a standout moment — a second playground featuring seriously fast big slides with a gorgeous view at the top that older kids will absolutely love. Fair warning for toddler parents: these slides mean business. A climbing structure and swings round out this area nicely.

The de Anza playground is modest — one slide, a rock wall, and not much else, though pleasantly shaded. Plenty of picnic tables throughout.

Don't come solely for the playground. Come for everything else and enjoy the playground as a bonus.
