Fleetwood Park looked at the concept of a playground and said — you know what, let's not overcommit. One slide. Two swings. One basketball hoop. A chain link fence that adds all the warmth and charm of a correctional facility. A field generously peppered with gopher holes and weeds that have clearly been thriving unchallenged for years.
To be fair, the slide works. The swings swing. The basketball hoop has a backboard. Technically, everything is functioning as intended.
But with genuinely wonderful parks just a short drive away in every direction, there is absolutely no reason to seek this one out unless you live directly across the street and the toddler is driving you up the walls.
Fleetwood Park: it exists, and that's really the nicest thing we can say.
