McCandless Park is a genuine destination and one of the most impressive parks visited so far — full stop. Three distinct playgrounds in one location, each thoughtfully tiered by age, means the whole family is covered from babies to older kids without compromise. One flag is the splashpad is currently not working.
The baby playground is an absolute showstopper — giant caterpillars, flower-shaped shade covers, and ladybugs create an enchanting, beautifully designed world that feels genuinely magical for the tiniest visitors. The progression through each playground as kids grow older is seamlessly executed throughout.
Wide open spaces, inclusive design, basketball courts, and enough variety to fill an entire morning without anyone running out of things to do. This is what happens when a park is designed with genuine intention and care.
An easy highest rating. Drive as far as needed — completely worth it.
