This is the second time we went. It’s a good option for long weekends in the winter or for holidays in the summer. Younger kids wouldn’t have the pleasure of fully utilizing all the facilities but by the time kiddos are 5, they should be able to use most of the tall slides.

The selling point is the summer pool- which opens in June. The outdoor pool has a sandbar entrance, is pretty shallow in 75% of the areas, and is overall really relaxing.  Kids are in life jackets, and there are lifeguards. There is also music and entertainment for kiddos. Overall, a wholesome, Americana experience for whole families .

Great Wolf Lodge is the perfect Bay Area escape — close enough to not feel like a trek, far enough to feel like an actual getaway. One to two nights hits the sweet spot perfectly.

For younger toddlers and babies, the dedicated splash pad area is genuinely wonderful — calm, safe, and endlessly entertaining. Older kids meanwhile are living their best lives between the wave pool, water rides, and an impressive indoor ropes course.

Now, the honest part: Great Wolf Lodge has enthusiastically mastered the art of the upcharge. Every corner presents a new exciting opportunity to spend more money, and the dining options inside are mediocre for what they cost. Pack snacks. Pack many snacks.

Worth it for the memories — just set a budget and add twenty percent.
